Communion Delivery

Nursing Home and Shut-In Communion Delivery Ministry

This ministry is dedicated to ensuring that the sick and home-bound have the opportunity to partake of the Lord’s Supper if they so desire.

Since 2001, we have visited the Athens Convalescence Center and Limestone Health Facility on a weekly basis and have visited a number of Family members while they have been in the Hospital or sick at home. This ministry allows for those who are unable to attend worship services to stay connected to their church family, but more importantly to commune with God and to remember the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. It has been a blessing to both those who receive the communion and those who serve.

If you or someone you know, will not be able to attend the Worship service, due to illness, please send an email with the following information:

1.  Name of Person(s) to be Served

2.  Number of persons needing to be served

3.  Location (please include the room number if in Hospital or Nursing Home)

4.  Telephone number

5.  Other Information (for example, go to back door, special time, allergic to perfume, etc.)

To Brian Black at by Saturday.

If you are interested in helping in this ministry, please contact Brian Black, Tom (T-bird) Watkins or the office (256) 232-2014. We typically provide this service during Sunday school.
